Impulse Filmmaking Workshops: The Team

KAVITA JOSHI (FOUNDER): An alumna of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, Kavita is an independent filmmaker and media trainer.

She believes that the essentials of film making can be made accessible to everyone. To this end, she designs learning programmes that use a clear approach and hands-on practical sessions to teach people the art and craft of making a film.

Kavita launched her filmmaking workshops in the year 2001 with a brief workshop at IIT Kanpur. There's been no looking back since, and she has independently organised and conducted the Summer Programme since 2003. She has also designed and delivered customised training for organisations like Adobe India, Nikon India and Skillshare International; and taught at media schools including Chetana Media at Thrissur and Delhi University.

Over the years, she has produced and guided over 40 short fiction and documentary films at her filmmaking workshops. Many of these films have won awards and have shown at film festivals.
